Answer

105. What editors are available on your system?

When you are in a telnet session and need to modify a program, an HTML file or a configuration file you can use one of the following editors:

  • vi - vi is the most known editor for Unix system. It require a little knowledge.
  • pico - pico is a simple small editor with is perfect to edit small files.
  • joe - joe use wordstar like keys so most DOS user prefere this editor to others.

Some users have some problems using the Windows 95 Telnet client with pico. If you have any problems, please use a different telnet software (we use NetTerm without problems). Go to www.tucows.com to download a different Telnet client.
