050. How do I use the maillists directory?

Simple listserver and Mail list instructions

1) Create a file in the infobots directory with a welcome message in  - you can name it anything  you like, for our purposes we'll call it "mylist-subscribe".

Ex: "Welcome to my list server, please send all mail to name of mylist@mydomain.com"

This message will be automatically returned each time someone subscribes.

2) Now you need to setup a configuration file to tell the mail system to build a mailing list.
In your infobot directory create a file called infolist.  This is used
to tell the system what to do with addresses received from each infobot response. You can have as many lists as you want, for our purposes we will set it up to write to one list called "mylist".

Here's what the file should look like:

        Ex: mylist-subscribe mylist

First line should be mylist-subscribe followed by a space, then  mylist. That's all you need to create a list called  "mylist".

2A) Now to subscribe to your list in the above example you would email mylist-subscribe@yourdomain.com, this would return the autoresponder created called mylist-subscribe and put the email address in the mailling list file you set in your infolist file which in this case is mylist.

3) To send mail to the list, send your E-mail to mylist@yourdomain.com
and the Plus Mail System will send it to the entire list.

4) To password protect the file add a password to the first line of your email list.
In order to mail to the list this password must be in the first line in the body of the  message. Anybody that sends to the list without the password - will have there message sent to the default address in the redirect file. You can then decide if you want them to mail to the list.
